Love, Lies & Legacy 2- chapter 16

Chapter 16        

   Colored lights circled the room under the gold silks that draped the ceiling. Seductive music emanated from the dance floor, sending vibrations on everyone’s feet. The guest laughed, talked, socialized and danced as they drank the finest wine served in thin purple colored glasses.

    The girls sparkled in their designer dresses and jeweled stilettos. The boys charmed their way through the party with their perfectly cut casual suits. It was truly an Alex Crusellas party, sophisticated, opulent and most of all sexy.

  As the addictive music came to its peak, everyone could not help but glanced at the gold entrance as Darius and Sienna entered the hall. Sienna looked like the simplest girl there and that made her stand out the most. Her effortless midnight blue colored dress stood out among the glittery sparkled dresses that the other girls wore.

  Darius on the other hand, exuded so much effortless sexiness through his eyes that made every female heart melt. Alex smirked at his best friend’s usual grand arrival. He was use to it and believed that comparing yourself to your best friend is utterly fatuous.

   “You never fail to make one hell of an entrance, Darius,” said Alex as he shook Darius’s hand.

  “I did not ask for it and besides all eyes were on her this time,” replied Darius as he placed his arms around Sienna’s waist.

  “Good evening Sienna. It is your first time here and you’re already causing some riot with your beauty,” said Alex as he lightly shook her hand.

  “I am happy to spice up your party, Alex,” Sienna said with a smile. Alex led both of them up to the exclusive VIP room which was above the circular hall. The semicircular shape of the VIP room made it have a perfect view of the party below.

  Alex gestured them to sit down on the plush black sofas and ordered for some drinks. Sienna scanned the room as Darius and Alex started to talk. The floors were covered with glitter, the girls were frosted with stones, the music made your heart beat faster and the atmosphere was cathartic. Her concentration was suddenly disturbed by Darius’s hands on her arm

“I apologize for leaving you out of the conversation. Alex and I got out of hand,” said Darius genuinely

“It’s nothing. You and Alex haven’t talk to each other in a long time. I completely understand,” assured Sienna.

“I have someone who is eager to meet you Sienna,” said Alex as he drank his champagne. Alex then looked over his shoulder, watching with ecstasy as a beautiful figure walked toward them. Hair tied in a sophisticated high ponytail, wearing a shimmering pearl white dress with red lips was the startling Julez Everard. Sienna immediately stood up at the sight of her and within seconds, they were hugging each other.

 “God, I missed you so much,” said Sienna as they let go of each other.

 “I missed you too!” she said back and they hugged each other again.

 “Ola chico and to you Darius. You look healthy…,” she said as she flashed a smirk to both them.

 “Good evening, Julez,” replied Darius as he shook her hand.

 “Since we all said our hellos, I am going to have a girl to girl talk with Sienna. Apparently we have a lot to catch up with.  Stay away from trouble boys,” said Julez, in her usual flamboyant demeanor. The girls then walked to the other side of the VIP room and sat down.

 “How are you? Everything all right with Darius?” asked Julez with concern. 

 “I’m fine, never been better. Especially now that I’m with Darius. He has fully recovered from his kidnap incident. By the way, thank you for saving him,” said Sienna as she held Julez’s hands.

 “It’s the least I can do. After I push you away at the Eternal Ball and didn’t return your calls, I felt guilty. I should not have overreacted when I saw you with Darius. It was just very shocking that time because I hated him back then. I am really sorry Sienna,” explained Julez.

 “It’s okay. I totally understand,” she said with a smile. Julez smiled back and they both hugged each other.

 “So, you just had to screw Alejandro Crusellas? What were you thinking?” asked Sienna as she crossed her arms.

 “Excuse me; it is more than just screwing. My relationship with him is not based on sex only. It is more than that,” said Julez sincerely.

 “So what is up with the secrecy? Are you afraid to let people know that you’re dating a very seductive player?” asked Sienna as she sipped her champagne that just arrived.

 “Of course not. Believe me; Alex is well tamed when he is with me. We are both at a point where we realize that our relationship is more serious that just talking and sleeping with each other. I do have feelings for him but I think he is not ready to admit his,” said Julez as she leaned back on the sofa.

 “What happen to the candor Julez who speaks her mind and does not let boys put her in a complicated position? You must be really into him,” said Sienna back.

 “I am but it is not as obvious and strong as the feelings you and Darius feel for each other. I mean, he looks at you like you are the most precious thing in his world. It’s great because every time you’re with him, there is a sense of gratefulness in Darius’s eyes,” said Julez excitingly. A wide grin emanated form Sienna’s face as she heard those words.

 “I feel the same way about him too and I’m glad you two are in good terms now,” said Sienna.

 “Yeah, he is kind of nice and he does have wonderful taste in diamonds,’ said Julez as she caressed the sparkling rocks around Sienna’s neck.

“How do you know he gave it to me?” asked Sienna is surprise.

 “Alex told me about it. God, this is a very stunning Bvlgari piece. I bet he is going to buy you one of the auctions dresses later,” she said as she examined the necklace closer.

 ”There is going to be a dress auction later? I didn’t know this was a charity party,” said Sienna.

 “Not technically. This is just one of Alex’s extravagant parties but we always auction off things at the end of the party for charity and for the funding of the society. We have this tradition that your date or lover will bid on the item of your choice and give it as a present to you. This year we are auctioning off beautiful dresses from all the top designers. So our boyfriends would have to cash out a lot of money but it is exciting,” she said with a childish grin.

 After the heart to heart conversation with Julez, the girls decided to go to the dance floor and dance their hearts out. As Sienna was swaying and shaking to the beat of the music, she caught Darius and Alex watching her and Julez from the VIP room above. She nudged Julez and pointed them to her. Julez raised her eyebrow and blew a flying kiss towards them as a sign to buzz off.

 Afterwards they both met up with Holly and Lisette. All of them sat down and begin talking, laughing and gossiping like little girls. Sienna felt so happy and jaunty with her friends after all she had been through with Darius. For once, there was nothing to worry about.

 

Love, Lies & Legacy 2- chapter 15

Chapter 15

   Darius knocked on Sienna’s door that night while holding a zip up bag that contained Sienna’s dress for the evening. With the sound approval of Sienna, Darius entered the room. He looked dashing that evening, wearing a Prada navy blazer over a striped light blue button up shirt.

    Sienna came out from the bathroom, her face fresh with make up, looking stunning and ethereal like a goddess. Her hair was styled in a sophisticated up-do and she was only wearing her short robe.

   “My dress! Thank you Darius,” said Sienna and she planted a kiss on his cheek. Darius smiled and unzipped the bag, taking out the striking Carolina Herrera dress. Darius watched and admired as Sienna took of her robe, exposing her lithe body that was only covered with a lacy black bra and knickers as she gracefully slip on the dress. She then came up to Darius and turned her back to him.

   “Zip me up, please,” she said, almost in a juvenile tone.

   “It is odd. I am so use to undressing you,” he said saucily with his breath on her neck, his cologne driving Sienna mad. Slowly she turned around and placed her hands around his neck.

  “You can do that after the party,” she said in a whisper, her lips lightly brushing against his. Darius replied by smiling at her lecherously. Sienna stood in front of the full length mirror beside her dresser as she slipped her feet into a dazzling pair of silver Jimmy Choos. She turned to her side, hands on her hips as she studied her outfit for the evening.

   The strapless dress made from the finest of silk accentuated her swan like collarbone and was perfectly short enough to expose her lean legs. The midnight blue color made her ivory skin glow. There was no doubt that she looked gorgeous.

  Darius walked towards the mirror, standing behind Sienna as he placed his arm around her waist. Both of them looked at each other’s reflection, not completely realizing how equally striking they are and how utterly powerful they can be.

  “You look stunning,” he said sincerely.

  “You too, Darius,” she said back as she lightly touched his jaw line.

  “I have recently learned that the daughters of Masenfer are immensely fascinated with diamonds,” he said while cocking his head to one side.

  “Well yes but I don’t own any diamonds,” she said as Darius traced her shoulder blades. Sienna shivered a little at Darius’s delicate touch. Darius hands slid over her left shoulder blade and before it reached the end of her shoulder, in a blink of an eye his hand held out a string of ostentatious diamonds. Sienna immediately gasped at the sight of something so precious.

   “Now you have your own diamonds,” he said as he studied Sienna’s face. Her eyes were glowing with adoration and her smile shined with excitement. It was very obvious that she too inherited the passion for jewelry.

Darius then clasp it around Sienna’s neck.

   Sienna felt the weight and the coolness of each square cut diamond on her bare skin. The big square cut diamonds were alternately connected with small round cut diamonds, each one sparkling like a star. Dangled elegantly in the middle was a single blue sapphire stone.

  “This is absolutely exquisite. Thank you!” squealed Sienna as she swung her arms around Darius’s waist.

  “I am pleased you like your birthday present. May this be the day you, the undeniably alluring heir to the Masenfer legacy start a passionate love affair with exquisite jewelry,” he said with a smile.

   “And to think that my first piece of jewelry was given to me by an irresistibly enticing member of the Cuza family,” she said back flirtatiously with a smirk.

    Aurora stood steadily, arms crossed in the middle of the living room of the mansion. She was facing the main door that was down the hall and could not help smile at the sight of two teenagers standing there facing each other with happiness sparkling in their eyes.

  “What are you looking at?” Annaliese asked as she came in from the side door.

   “I am looking at our children. Well you could hardly call them children anymore,” she said as Annaliese stood right beside her.

   “I never regretted our clandestine friendship or my unpredictable life in the society but sometimes I wonder if our volatile lives have ever affected theirs in somewhat depressing way,” said Annaliese.

  “It has affected them but I hardly think it’s depressing, Anna. Our volatile lives made them stronger and more matured people. One more great thing is that our lives led them to find each other,” said Aurora with a small smile.

  “You are right. Now let’s send them off for a night of fun,” said Annaliese as she walked towards the door, Aurora walking behind her.

   “Are you both all set to go?” asked Annaliese.

   “Yes, we were just waiting for you,” replied Darius.

  “Mum, is everything all right? You look so… ,” asked Sienna with a hint of confusion as she saw her mother’s distressing expression.

  “I was just thinking that if the union between our families happened a long time ago, everything would be change. Our lives and the state of society would be different,” said Aurora.

   “Our past cannot be changed but we can still build our future. The future of the society lies in both your hands. Both of you will be great leaders,” said Annaliese as she placed a hand on Darius’s shoulders.

   “Together, both of you will be extraordinary leaders of the society,” said Aurora assertively. Both Darius and Sienna smiled at each other as their mothers words gave them confidence.

   “Now both of you go have fun,” said Annaliese as she gestured them out the door.

   “We will see you later,” said Sienna asked she held both the hands of her mother and godmother. With that, both of them got into Darius’s Jaguar and drove off.

 

 

 

 

 

Love, Lies & Legacy 2- chapter 14

Chapter 14

“Natalya was born with a disease called erythropoietic protoporphyria or EPP disease. It meant she could not come in contact with sun rays. Even close contact with the rays from the sun could mean a lot of damage to her body. She never got to go out like a normal person. When she was old enough, my mother let her go out during the night,” he explained. Sienna listened carefully and realized that even thought Darius did not show any sign of a sad expression, his eyes said otherwise. His beautiful eyes were full of sadness.

“When I was 15, she was diagnosed with skin cancer and did not have much time to live. So I left school to go stay with her here, in this mansion. The weather here is not as sunny as France so my mother thought it was a good place to stay. The whole time I was here, she practically became my teacher. I was home schooled by her for a year. If she was still here, she would have been a great educator,” he said with a smile.

“So that is why you left Elexer Academy,” said Sienna, finally knowing the reason why he left.

“Yes….You must wonder about the racks of clothes she has. Since she never had a chance to really go shopping, my mother bought all those clothes and her walk in dresser became her private shopping emporium. She started playing the piano when she was 5 and taught me how to play. The song I played just now was the last song she made. She told me to play the song to someone really special someday. I chose to play it to you,” he said. Sienna placed a hand on the side of Darius face and leaned in for a kiss.

“Sometimes I feel like she wrote that song like she knew it was almost her time and she knew I was not going to handle her absence well,” he said after they kissed.

“I bet she made the song as a way for you to remember her,” said Sienna, her hands still around his neck.

“How can I ever forget her? She made such a big impact in my life. This song has never left my head ever since I heard her sing it. I remember that day so vividly. It was on a Thursday, she sat right here. Her fingers were dancing with the piano keys as she sang every word like it was her last. I remember the expression on her face, the sadness in her eyes and they way she tried to cover it up with her smile. She died the next day,” he said as he looked away from Sienna.

Sienna looked at the side of Darius’s face and then her focus shifted to a few pieces of paper that were on the stand above the keyboard. There were musical notes, hand written on the bars of the paper. On the very top written in beautiful cursive writing were the words ‘Still Here’ and below it was ‘by Natalya Cuza’

“I’m sorry,” said Sienna in a whisper.

Love, Lies & Legacy 2- chapter 13

Chapter 13

“How do you know that?” asked Sienna with surprise.

“I know it’s been 2 weeks since my abduction and I have not told you this but Julez was my real savior,” he said finally. Sienna was stunned for a while but thought very hard for a while.

“Julianne Arabelle Everard. Ara is Julez. Why didn’t you tell me about this before?” asked Sienna, disappointed and annoyed of Darius’s secrecy.

“I do not know. I apologize. I did not know what your reaction would be. You two were very close before I came along,” said Darius sincerely. There was a silence between them for a while.

“You will have a chance to meet her tomorrow; she will definitely be at Alex’s party. You can talk to her then,” he said softly, trying to calm Sienna down.

“How do you know she’ll be there?” asked Sienna with her hands crossed.

“Let me tell you something Sienna…,” said Darius in a seductive tome as he leaned in, doing exactly what Sienna did moments ago. Giggles and a smile glowed on Sienna as she leaned in too, excited by seeing her boyfriend imitating her previous actions.

“Julez and Alex are having a secret affair,” he said finally.

“No way! Oh my god,” said Sienna in shock as she placed her hands over her mouth. She then burst into giggles as did Darius.

“This is so weird. My best friend is having an affair with your best friend. What are the odds of that?” she said while trying to contain her giggles. Darius smiled at her as his eyes lingered on the guitar Sienna was holding. Darius took her hand and brought her inside. They entered Darius’s sister, Natalya’s bedroom.

“Why are we in your sister’s room?” asked Sienna. Darius answered her question with a quick kiss on the lips and nothing more. He led her to the corner of the room. He pushed threw the corner wall and it swung inside like a revolving door.

The room inside was almost the same size as the bedroom. The amazing feature of the room was that its ceiling was made entirely of tinted glass. There were floor to ceiling shelves, filled with book, a desk sat on one corner with a Mac computer on it, a stereo system was set and a plush L shaped sofa was at the middle of the room

It looked like a normal young person’s room but without a bed and absolutely no windows. At the corner of the room stood a magnificent white grand piano Darius sat on the piano stool and gestured Sienna to sit beside him. Darius placed his fingers on the piano keys and started to play a melody. It was one of the most beautiful melodies Sienna has ever heard.

Darius hummed a harmony that mixed so well with the melody. For Sienna, it was one of those special songs. A song that when you first hear it, even it’s the first few seconds, you feel a warm feeling in your heart. It’s like your heart is beating to the rhythm of the song and slowly each word of the songs is carved into your heart. Sienna felt the warmness almost bursting form inside of her, all she wanted now was the words.

“Sing it for me,” pleaded Sienna. Darius stopped playing and looked at Sienna.

“I do not sing. I am not good at it,” he said.

“Darius please… it doesn’t matter if you’re not good. I am not going to judge you; I just want to know the lyrics,” she said. Darius gazed into her eyes and did not have the heart to say no. He started to play the song again and with a deep breath, he started to sing.

“You looked at me and saw what I never could see,

Sienna felt every single word carved on her heart as she listened to Darius. Tears started to well on her eyes when Darius ended the song. Darius immediately embraced Sienna into his arms.

“That was truly beautiful Darius,” she said with a smile on her face. Darius smiled back as he wiped a single tear drop that fell down her face.

“How come you never told me you play the piano?” she asked.

“I have never touched nor played the piano for almost a year. Besides I am not as good as you. I only know the basics,” he said as he played with Sienna’s hand.

“Who taught you to play?”

“My sister taught me to play. She liked music, just like you,” he said with a hint of sorrow in your eyes. Sienna never knew much about Darius’s sister, Natalya except the fact that she was no longer alive. This was an opportunity for her to know the person that was Natalya Cuza.

“What happen to Natalya? That is my question for the offer you gave me doing dinner. I want you to tell me about your sister,” asked Sienna seriously.
