Love, Lies & Legacy 2- chapter 10
Chapter 10
“Cuza, are you all right?” asked Julez as she got up from the ground. Darius lay on the ground, a couple of feet away from her. Julez went to his side to check if he was all right.
“Are you all right?” he asked back warily. A small smile crept Julez's face as she helped him up. Asking about her well being before his very own even though Darius was in a worst condition to begin with, was very sweet.
“I am fine. Better than you,” she said back. Julez then started to walk back to the scene of the crime but was stopped by Darius.
“It is better if you do not go there. Just call the police and report the accident. No need for details of yourself,” said Darius. Julez did what she was told and took out her cell phone.
“Do you know where we are?” asked Julez as they started to walk.
“We are 30 miles from the castle. Are you calling for help?” he asked, cautious of his surroundings. Abruptly, rough winds started to blow and vivid lights shone down from above. A rope ladder was brought down and Julez grabbed it.
“It’s already here,” she said as she climbed up. Darius followed soon after and both of them were transported.

The cool breeze of the hills circulated the massive room of the mansion threw the stone frame windows. Lying in the heavy wooden bed was Darius, who has not awaken since he was placed there. Wires were connected to his chest that monitored his frail body. After the wild escape with Julez, Darius’s already weak body slowly started to shut down.
After his collapse, he was directly flown to France for the best medical help. But broken ribs, internal bleeding and dehydration did not stop Darius from living. The doctors stabilize him but he was still unconscious. Two days had past by and still no response. Everyone was nervous especially Sienna.
The first time Sienna saw Darius after he was saved was a hard time for her. She entered the room and saw Darius lying motionless. No movement and eyes wide shut, Darius still looked striking to Sienna. She wanted so badly for him to wake up and intoxicate her with his mesmerizing mismatched eyes. Still, she did not shed a single tear because she knew that Darius was going to all right. She held on to that thought everywhere she went, she believed in hope.
Sienna sat down on his bed on the third day. She gently stroked his hand and took it in hers. His hands were cold but that did not stop her from placing his hand to her heart.
“Every time I feel or hear your heartbeat, it always gives me a sense of tranquility,” she said softly. Sienna then turned to look at the beautiful scenery outside for a while and looked at Darius again.
“I am always here for you. We made a promise together that we will always be there for each other, remember? I need you, Darius,” she said softly and gently kissed his hand. Sienna then lay down next to him, resting her head next to his. She placed her hand on Darius’s chest and felt a very slow heartbeat.
“Don’t break your promise,” she whispered directly into his ear.
That night, Darius’s opened his eyes and slowly started to gain consciousness. He felt something warm against his chest and saw a hand gracefully lying there. He leisurely lifted his hand and placed it on top of Sienna’s. He turned his face to the side and saw Sienna’s enticing visage, deeply in slumber.
He touched Sienna’s silky cheeks, tracing down to her chin and back up again. Sienna felt something cold on her cheeks and instantly woke up to see Darius’s stunning eyes. They both gazed into each others eyes, trying to control the feeling of mirth and liberation. Sienna then shifted her position so Darius could wrap his arms around her waist and they both lay there in each others arms, falling peacefully back to sleep.
The next day, Darius woke up without Sienna by her side. Instead his mother was there with a relieved smile. Darius slowly sat up and hugged his mother tenderly.
“It was brave of you to tell Martin that you knew the whereabouts of the Espoir when obviously do not, just to protect Sienna. But at the same time that was a fatuous thing to do,” said Annaliese as she sat down on a chair next to Darius’s bed.
“I did it because I promise I would take care of her,” said Darius.
“No, you did it because you love her,” she said with a small smile.
“You know mother, we rarely talk yet you seem to know everything about me,” Darius said with a smirk.
“That is because you are my only son. Now, we will talk about your abduction when you are ready. Are you feeling any better?” she asked, concerned about his condition.
“I feel much better. So can I get off this bed and spend time with Sienna?” he asked cheekily, hoping his mother would approve.
“Your clothes are in the bathroom and your Jaguar is at my house. You will ride with me because we need to talk about Sienna’s mother,” Annaliese said as she stood up.
“What about Aurora?” he asked confusedly.
“She is alive and wants to meet you. Now get dress, my dear,” she said with a kiss on Darius’s forehead.
