Love, Lies & Legacy 2- chapter 19

Darius walked out of the loud emporium and headed to the bathroom. He pushed the bathroom door and opened the first sink to wash his hands. Suddenly without a sound, a set of strong hands grabbed his neck from behind. Darius struggled to pull back the arms so he could breathe. They both grappled each other, trying to be the man with the upper hand.

Darius spun his body around and push backwards with all his might. The man slammed into ceiling length mirror on the wall, breaking it into tiny pieces. In a weak moment, Darius gave an elbow punch to the man’s head.

He sound of a breaking bone could be heard as Darius freed himself from the man. He rapidly ran out of the bathroom and down the hall. He turned a corner and saw a glimpse of the man chasing after him from behind. As he was running, glancing back every few seconds, a hand grabbed his elbow and pushed him threw a door.

“Go down through the balcony,” she said before she closed the door. A very confused Darius did what he was told and went to the balcony. Below the balcony was another smaller one. He climbed over the terrace railing and looked down. There was an 8 feet drop for him.  Darius let go of the railing and his body dropped down on the tiled balcony. The landing was painful for him but nothing serious.

Darius stood up and leaned against the palisade for support. He tried to catch his breath and calm himself down from all the running. He suddenly thought of the girl that helped him escape and wondered if she was alright. But then something more important came to him and that was the safety of Sienna.

He immediately took out his cell phone and called Sienna. Liberation seeped threw him as he heard Sienna’s voice. Minutes later, Sienna arrived with Alex behind her. Solace came over her to see Darius standing there unharmed. Darius put his arms around Sienna’s waist and kissed her temple as a sign of relief that nothing happened to her.

“Thank god you’re alright,” said Sienna as she held him closer.

“And you said that I worry about you too much,” replied Darius with a small smile.

“I apologize. I thought there would not be a problem with the security. I made sure before the party that everything would be secure, especially when you and Sienna are coming,’ said Alex apologetically. Alex felt a little guilty because he assured Darius and Sienna that their safety at his party would be taken seriously.

“There is no need to apologize. I am fine and Sienna is unharmed. That is all that matters, Alex,” assured Darius, seeing the remorse in Alex’s eyes.

“Where were you first attacked?” asked Alex hoping he would track down the man who did this to his best friend.

“I was in the bathroom that time. Then he chased me down the hall. Afterwards I was saved by a girl who dragged me into the upstairs room and told me to come down through the balcony,” explained Darius to both of them.

         “Julez?” asked Sienna.

“No it was not her. I could not see her face because she was wearing a mask,” said Darius.

“I will try to find her for you and the ratchet man that did this to you,” said Alex.

“You do no have to go to all that trouble, Alex,” said Darius. Suddenly the door to the room opened and Julez walked in.

“Is everything all right?” asked Julez in a worried tone as she placed her hand on Alex’s shoulder. She stared into Alex’s and was surprised to see guilt in it.

“Everything is fine now,” said Sienna to her.

“I think it is time for Sienna and I to go. Another year, another great party Alex. Thank you for going through a lot of trouble just so Sienna and I could come,” said Darius with a smile.

“I am glad that you two risked yourselves to come to my party,” replied Alex.

“I’ll see you soon,” said Julez to Sienna as she gave her a hug.

“We should go shopping together someday and or sit down and have a jam session. I got a new guitar for my birthday,” said Sienna, while reminiscing the great times they spent together.

“That would be great. Maybe we could write a song about the boys in our life,” Jules said with a raised eyebrow as he looked at both Alex and Darius. Both boys had an incredulous confused look on their faces which made Julez and Sienna giggle with mirth.

“Great party Alex,” said Sienna as she and Darius walked out of the room. On their way out the door, Darius turned his head and gave a smirk to his best friend.

“I’ll be using your X5 to get home, Alex,” which made Alex a little pissed off because the X5 was his favorite car. But he knew that Darius is a way better driver than he could ever be. He trusted Darius with his car.
