Chapter 25

Empty - The Click Five

Darius arrived home to find a black Bentley parked on his stone pathway. The trunk of the car was opened and it was filled with several suitcases. Darius wondered if his mother was going away for a trip and forgot to tell him.

He entered the front door and standing there was Sienna. On her side was a Louis Vuitton luggage bag and she was busy typing on her cell phone. She immediately looked up as Darius close the door.

Darius gave a small smile inside at the sight of her. It has been more than a week since their selfish argument. He felt so much innocence and goodness emanating from her that tranquilized him.

“This is a surprise. You could have called me if you were coming, I could…..” he said, trying to sound as normal as possible but his words were cut off.

“I’m leaving France tonight,” she said directly.

“Sienna, why are you leaving and to where?” he asked, still in a state of shock and confusion.

“I’m spending the rest of the summer in England with Julez,” she replied, her tone still cold and venomous like she was repelled by Darius.

“I understand that Julez is your best friend but Jesse and Lexy live in England. It is not safe for you to go there,” said Darius with concern in his eyes as he stepped closer to fill the space between them.

“Maybe if I stay away from you, there would be no danger surrounding me. Have you ever thought of that? Besides its better than staying here and feeling heartbroken,” she said as she glared into his eyes. Then she took her luggage bag and passed Darius to get to the door.

“Sienna….” Pleaded Darius as he followed her down the stone steps. He was not convinced and did not want to accept her departure. Before Sienna entered the car, she turned around to face Darius.

“I get it. It is less complicated to be with Harlow. With our complicated family history, danger will never leave any of us and being together is just making it worst. You could have just told me about her,” she said contently but sadness was in her eyes.

“Go back to Harlow, Darius,” she said coldly and entered the car. The car then sped of into the night.

Darius stood there in the blistering cold night and watch his one and only leave him. He could not move nor think properly. Not letting her go would make him a hypocrite because earlier that evening he thought about letting her go so she can stay away from the danger he brought.

He just did not expect it to end like that. What they had together was something bigger than he had ever felt. Being left behind like that with a lot of unanswered questions made him uneasy. If they were to part ways, he would want it to be in a more peaceful sense.

Sienna was cold the whole time and Darius did not even have a chance to speak. After a few seconds, Darius sat down on the stone steps. The wind was picking up speed and temperature continued to plummet. Darius sat there in grief and anger. Another person he cared about just left him, like all the others.

He began to shiver but he did not care. No amount of pain could come close to the pain he felt from losing somebody. No amount of icy weather could pierce his already broken heart. He realized then that no amount of love could ever replace the love Sienna gave him.

Darius felt the cold breeze floating away from him. He watched as the shadow of the oak trees by the driveway sway gracefully to the north. The wind was painfully erasing everything, taking with it Darius’s fire and Sienna’s love.
